Débora M. de Freitas

Débora is an experienced Policy Researcher with a demonstrated history of working in the government relations industry. She is currently Assistant Professor at Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) -Campus Litoral Paulista and professor at the Graduate Program in Biodiversity of Coastal Ecosystems at this institution. She was recently named ´Australia Global Alumni Embassador for Brazil´ by the Australian Government. Developed postdoctoral research at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics/Brazil (ITA, 2013-2015), at the Australian National Center for Ocean Resources and Security - University of Wollongong/Australia (2010-2012) and at the Center of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies - James Cook University/Australia (2008-2010). Débora holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from James Cook University/Australia (2006-2010). Débora is also an associate member of the Tropical Water Research Alliance (TWRA), and a collaborator in the Brazil in the Decade of the Ocean initiative.
